As 2018 draws to a close, we would like to thank all the businesses across the Penrith Business Parks for their continued support.

We’ve been hard at work since the commencement of the Business Improvement District term on the 1st October 2018, setting in motion several new and exciting projects. All businesses across the three business parks will enjoy the benefits of these and we’re looking forward to sharing the results with you all over the coming months.

First: a quick update on what the BID has been doing.

Following the successful ballot in April, we’ve held consultations with several local businesses and service providers with a view to providing additional services (as well as improving existing ones) across the Penrith Business Parks. These consultations have covered a wide range of issues identified as priorities by businesses – including parking, security, marketing of the estates, litter, pest control and access improvements.

We’re looking forward to sharing more detailed plans with you all at our “Meet the BID” event we have planned in the new year. All businesses will receive an invitation shortly. It will be a great chance to meet the BID team and discuss in detail your views on what you would like to see improved.

Our “Meet the BID” event will coincide with the launch of the new branding and website for the three business parks. We don’t want to give away too much at this stage, however this new brand has been developed to retain the individual identity of each of the three business parks while providing an online platform to promote the fantastic skills and services that Penrith has to offer.

One of our most important responsibilities is to ensure we deliver the best possible value for money to every levy payer across the Penrith Business Parks. This is why we’re delighted to announce that we have secured support from Cumbria Growth Hub in the form of a 40% subsidy towards the development of the Penrith Industrial Estates’ online platform, in addition to the BID levy payments that we have received from businesses (via Eden District Council.) We have also had positive discussions with Invest in Eden, Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Cumbria Constabulary with regards to securing additional funding for future projects we have planned.

Last but not least, all of us involved with the BID would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and all the best for 2019.
